My view on corporal punishment
Recently, according to the newspaper report, the teacher wrestled one of the students for a punishment, resulting that the student had bone fractures. Then, he just gave him one thousand as a consolation. I associate this report with a corporal punishment in Taiwan. In the past, when teacher punished students by squats, students never said anything to their parents and took it for granted. But nowadays when some of children were punished by teachers, they must tell their parents that they did nothing and they were innocent. Then, their parents would go to school and have argument with the teacher or the principal. But is it the truth or just a lie? Besides, parents can’t make the impartial statement when they just trust their children’s saying. It’s true that parents want their children to get hurt. But once encountering this situation, both of parents and teachers may have adequate communication and discussion to clarify the truth. By doing so, it can not only set a good example to children but also resolve the problem peacefully.
